Founder and CEO

EcoSci Solutions was founded by Dr. Emily Smail in February of 2024. Emily is a strategically minded Earth scientist and project leader with 15 years of experience building long-term collaborations with diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, government agencies, and local leaders. By carrying out analytical studies and public outreach efforts, she addresses pressing environmental sustainability issues. Dr. Smail specializes in utilizing science to support informed decision-making and the development of effective conservation, and development policies. She has experience working with US government agencies, the US Congress, and the United Nations. 

Dr. Smail holds a Ph.D. in biology from the University of Southern California's marine and environmental biology program and a B.S. in biology from the Pennsylvania State University.
